The Talbot County Republican party believes that the foundation of the United States, and the basis of American Exceptionalism, is the set of principles articulated in the Declaration of Independence that each individual is endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights and among the most important are the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The free exercise of these rights can only occur when individual freedom and private property are assured by the rule of law, and when the role of government is limited.
We are proud to be the party of Abraham Lincoln who defended the proposition that all men are created equal and entitled to the enjoyment of these fundamental rights. We embrace the principle of individual responsibility while recognizing our obligation to help those who cannot help themselves. We are dedicated to preserving these values and to the support of policies consistent with them. We are also dedicated to the support of those individuals who have pledged to defend them.
We firmly believe that the correct path for the continued prosperity of our county, state, and nation is to continue to adhere to the belief that government works best when it is small, efficient, and fiscally responsible; that society advances when government strives to create an environment for businesses and private industry to thrive.
We welcome all men and women who share these beliefs to join the Talbot Republican Party and participate in our activities. If you'd like to know more about who we are, what we believe, and what activities we have planned, please look around our site and let us hear from you.
